Hope all flyers are ready for a fun year of take offs and landings, with a little exciment in between. We here at JRCC are looking forward to a fun-filled year. There are a lot of events to look forward to like the annual picnic, Fun fly, and the ever popular IMAC held for the past few years at our field. Hopefully the snow will all be gone soon and those fair weather fliers can get out there again tearing up the skies. Happy flying!!

TAG (Take Off and Grow)
by AMA and Dave Graves

Do you want to introduce model aviation to your friends and neighbors and receive local recognition and financial benefits in return? If you answered “yes,” then you’ll want to know more about AMA’s 2008 Take Off and Grow (TAG) program.

Developed to encourage our members and clubs to promote modeling as a positive recreational activity to those in their communities, TAG was the first of several new programs implemented by AMA in 2007. Intended primarily to indoctrinate and welcome the general public to our hobby, TAG basically provides a one-day extensive introduction of model aviation with the intent of drawing new people into our hobby. This is followed by a flight training program for new members gained from the opening-day activities.

TAG Information: Click to read how the TAG program woks

TAG Documents, Rules, Applications etc...: Click here for Documents

Interested in volunteering? Dave has also requested if anyone can donate a computer for this program would be greatly appreciated. See Dave if you would like to volunteer and/or donate a computer to this great way of getting new people interested in the sport. AMA has a limited number of openings for 2008. If your club would like to partner with AMA to promote model aviation and open the door to growing your membership, contact us at (765) 287-1256, Ext. 516 and an application package will be sent to you promptly.

The TAG Program is available to Free Flight and Control Line clubs as well.

2008 Membership

2008 JRCC Membership: $60.00 yearly
AMA membership: Please see website for details visit the AMA website. AMA click here
I'm sure every member of JRCC has wondered how we maintain one of the best AMA fields in the area. right? Well, it's because of the great members at JRCC. Okay, it is cold out and most of the members have put their planes/heli's down, or you forgot about JRCC because it's been a couple month's since you have flown. It's understandable that situations arise however, lately membership at the monthly meetings has been pretty low, and volunteers are dropping like flies. The monthly meeting is held the second Wednesday of each month and lasts for about an hour. One hour out of the month is not too much to ask is it? You don't have to volunteer for something crazy like the web page. Ever show up at the field and wonder, "that's was a good idea" or, "dang, why did someone do that, that wasn't the best idea." If you want your opinion heard, and you would like to be "a part of the process," please join us monthly. No one bites (too much), and it's a great time to catch-up with other members who you may not have seen in a while.

If I forgot anything, feel free to send me an email and I will update.
